Our doctor says, Whoa. That is an arterial tear. You need to go to the E.R. right now. So off we go with me a basket case driving (acting like everything is ok for my poor baby) and Dustin saying the whole way "im gonna lose it. i'm gonna lose my finger". I prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed.
We had alot of prayers said for us that evening and even after that I know. After we got to the E.R. (I am so terrible, I had to stop and get gas on the way! is that ridiculous or what??) They got us in pretty quick. They finally got the bleeding to stop after cauterizing the artery (i guess?) and took X-rays. He barely hit his bone. Did I mention he shot his finger with a .44 mag? Everyone there was amazed he still had a finger. The bullet itself is almost as big as one. He didn't have to have surgery and he was going to be able to move his finger again! We are so blessed. I know he was being watched over through the whole thing. Its so scary to realize how fast things happen.
His finger has healed amazingly! Its still numb on half of it but he can move it and the entry and exit wounds are almost all healed up! He is going to have some pretty mean scars though! I guess a cool story to tell the kids??
